Cookies this site sets itself

None. Canine Origin is a static site and sets no cookies of its own. What it does use is your browser's local storage, which is a different mechanism: it stays on your device, is readable only by this site, is never attached to a request, and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

What is kept in local storage

  • Region and language. The region you selected, so the site does not ask again.
  • Region suggestion. Whether you dismissed the offer to switch region.
  • Calculator currency. The currency you chose in the cost calculators.
  • Saved names. Any names you marked as favourites in the dog name generator.
  • Analytics choice. Your answer to the analytics question, if you were asked.

All of these are preferences you set yourself. None identifies you, none follows you to another site, and clearing your browser's site data removes every one of them.

Third-party cookies

Canine Origin uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site and to identify usability issues. Both are optional and load only after you allow analytics; refusing keeps them from loading. Each sets its own cookies once loaded, described in its own privacy documentation.

Advertising services are not enabled, and accepting analytics does not enable them.

Where an affiliate link is used, the retailer or affiliate network may record the referral after the link is selected. Affiliate links are identified where they appear.

Changing your choice

You can review or change your optional cookie choices at any time by selecting in the footer. Refusing is remembered in exactly the same way as accepting.

Fonts

Page fonts are requested from Google Fonts. That request is made by your browser and does not set a cookie for this site, though Google receives the request.
